NEW SIGNING | JOE WALSH
Dorking Wanderers are today pleased to announce the loan signing of goalkeeper Joe Walsh from Queens Park Rangers.
Joe, 20, came through the youth ranks at his local team Gillingham, signing a scholarship with the Kent club in 2017 before signing a professional contract two years later. He made his first team debut for The Gills in September 2019 in the EFL Trophy against Colchester Town, ahead of making his first league appearance against Ipswich Town the following month, coming off the bench to replace the injured Jack Bonham.
In January 2021, Joe attracted the interest of Championship side Queens Park Rangers and was signed by the west London club for an undisclosed fee, joining up initially with the U23's team. Since September of this season, Joe has been playing regularly on loan at Hampton & Richmond Borough.
Joining the Wanderers on loan until January 8th, Joe is looking forward to getting started:
'I am buzzing to start with the club. I am grateful to the manager and cannot wait to get working with everyone at the club.'
Manager Marc White adds:
'Joe Walsh is a goalkeeper that I really believe is going to go right to the top of the game. He is very mature, brings a lot to us and I think the fans are going to love him.'
