James McShane signs 2.5 year contract extension with Dorking Wanderers

Dorking Wanderers have today confirmed that long-standing midfielder James McShane has signed a 2.5 year contract extension with the club.

McShane (pictured above) joined the club in the close season of 2016 and quickly established himself in the team. He has played a key part in 3 promotions since joining the Wanderers, helping the club rise from Step 4 (Ryman South) to their current status in the Vanarama National League. “Macca” has become a firm fans favourite in his time with the club, with his consistent performances in midfield and a very impressive return of 95 goals from 272 appearances to-date.

Manager Marc White said: “Macca epitomises the Wanderers spirit and I’m delighted that he’s signed this new agreement, which will take him up to 10 years with the club. He’s a consistent high performer and has shown time and time again that he has the ability to step up and make an impact in the division we are playing in, and the 10 goals he has already scored this season is testament to this”.

James McShane commented: “To be a part of the clubs rise for the past 7 years has been incredible and I’ve loved every minute of it, so to get my chance to commit my future to the club and continue the journey was an absolute no brainer. The Wanderers fans have been brilliant to me right from the start which is very much appreciated. Up the Wanderers!”
