FIRST TEAM FRIENDLY CONFIRMED TONIGHT PLUS WEEKEND ROUND UP

First Team Friendly Tonight...

For the second week running, Dorking will host local opposition in a friendly at Meadowbank on Tuesday night.

Isthmian Premier Division side Horsham FC will be the visitors in a 19:45pm kick off as Wanderers look to put behind them the disappointing defeat suffered to Solihull Moors this past Saturday afternoon. An Andrew Dallas brace and Joe Sbarra strike saw off Marc White's side on an afternoon where Joe Cook was dismissed shortly before half-time for bringing Dallas to ground inside the area, Dan Lincoln saving the resulting penalty taken by the Scottish forward himself.

Without a league win so far in 2023, tonight's friendly serves as preparation for Wanderers next National League fixture away to Aldershot Town this Saturday, a 3pm kick off at The EBB Stadium.

Last Tuesday's friendly saw Isthmian South East Division side Chichester City make the trip across Surrey, a Bobby-Joe Taylor brace early in the second half securing a 2-0 win for Wanderers.

Entry for tonight's friendly against Horsham is free, with The Lounge open from 5pm serving food and drinks.

Kuhl Joins The Gang...

Fresh off the presses, the club announced the signing of midfielder Aaron Kuhl on Monday afternoon from Slough Town. A long term target of Marc White, Aaron is currently injured and will not feature in red and white for a few more weeks.

DWFC Ladies Off The Mark For 2023...

After two postponements, the Wanderers Ladies finally played their first competitive fixture of 2023 against Welling United in the Capital Cup on Sunday afternoon. Originally scheduled to be played at Park View Road, following back-to-back postponements due to a frozen pitch, it was decided the game would be played at Meadowbank instead.

A stunning strike from midfielder Xayla gave Wanderers an early lead in the game, but was cancelled out just before half-time. However, shortly after the restart forward Gemma Shepherd put Wanderers back in front 2-1, and the Ladies held out to book their passage into the 3rd round of the competition they won last season.

Attention now switches to the other knock-out competition the Ladies are still contesting this term, the League Cup, where Enfield Town are the visitors to Meadowbank in a 15:30 kick off on Sunday.

Break For The B Team...

The Wanderers B team had another matchday break over the weekend, Ruben Gaspar's side signing off the month of January with just the two matches being played in total - both 1-0 home wins over Epsom & Ewell and Worthing United respectively.

The visit of Mile Oak to Meadowbank kicks off a busier looking February for the B team this Saturday in a 3pm kick off in the Southern Combination Division One.
