New Signing Alex Lankshear
Dorking Wanderers are pleased to announce the loan signing of defender Alex Lankshear from Blackpool FC.

Alex, 20, began his youth career with Arsenal prior to progressing through the academy of his local side St. Albans City. Signing a first team deal with the club in February 2021, Alex became a regular for The Saints during the 21/22 campaign, making nearly 40 appearances throughout the season as the Hertfordshire side reached the second round of the FA Cup and fought for a spot in the National League South play-off places.
In the summer of 2022, Championship side Blackpool signed Alex on a three year deal, joining up with the club's development squad ahead of the 22/23 campaign. On the final day of the season Alex made his first team debut for The Seasiders, coming on as a second half substitute in the 1-0 win over Norwich City on the final day.
Manager Marc White hinted a new signing was imminent following the 2-2 draw with York City on Saturday afternoon, and is excited about Alex becoming part of an evolving Wanderers side:
"We need to add quality and youth into our defence, Alex is a player I remember really well from our last season in the National League South, he went on to earn himself a three year deal with Blackpool after an exceptional campaign at St. Albans. It's important that we continue to develop and progress this new era by bringing in younger players, and Alex is a top quality left-sided centre back. Following on from our business completed earlier this week, Alex is another excellent addition to our side."
Given the squad number of 28 and part of the matchday squad for this Bank Holiday Monday's Surrey derby away to Woking, Alex adds:
"I'm excited to be joining the club. I can't wait to get started, and look forward to playing in front of the fans."
